This customer was having major leaks around chimney that were causing damages inside home. The chase lid and rain cap were old and rusted and not keeping moisture out. The entire stone chimney had major cracks that ran from top to bottom. These cracks were causing water to seep into the frame, which was drywall. The drywall was not keeping any seeping water from entering into home and down the liners. The wood framing was rotting and not able to hold the stone chimney in place for much longer.
Bone Dry completely demolished this chimney top to bottom. New wood framing was built properly to carry load, and house wrap was able to keep moisture off framing. After new framing was build, new stone was laid to the top. New flashing was placed around the roofline and chimney line to create a barrier in the crack. A brand New Chase lid was installed on top as well as a rain cap and storm collar. This stone chimney rebuild was completed after we applied Masonry Water Repellent to keep any moisture out.
